Voodoo recently traveled to Georgia & Tennessee to compete in the PGF March Madness
The last weekend of March, the team traveled two hours north of Atlanta, Georgia to compete in the PGF March Madness in Ringgold, Georgia and East Ridge, Tennessee. Not only did the team face tough competition, but they also experienced some crazy weather!
With the threat of thunderstorms over the weekend, the team was lucky to add four games on Friday against other teams that had traveled from Minnesota and New York. Voodoo faced the Minnesota Renegades, Empire State Huskies, and Starz. The team ended the day 1-2-1, and it was a great experience competing against girls who were committed to Alabama, Dartmouth, and Kennesaw State University.
Thunderstorms threatened all day on Saturday, but thankfully stayed north in Tennessee. There was a little rain off and on, but nothing to suspend play. Voodoo was able to play all three games against Georgia Impact, EC Bullets, and Tennessee Mojo. Of note, the Mojo team is considered one of the top 10 16U teams in the country (they are shooting for a national championship!), and Voodoo was the only team to score on them all day.
On Sunday, the tournament was hoping to offer more pool and bracket games, but the weather finally caught up and the day was canceled. Some of the team explored Civil War battlegrounds, and others hit authentic barbeque on the way back to Atlanta to catch a flight home to Seattle.
All-in-all, the team got in seven games and faced some of the best teams in the country.
